Heather Hobbs is an Oregon-based pro-life speaker who appeared at a Trump rally earlier this year. In August, she underwent thyroid surgery at OHSU Hospital in Portland.
Hobbs says that while there, she was targeted for her beliefs, an experience that she recounted to The Epoch Times.
My oldest child came up to me to give me a hug in the bed. She said, ‘Mommy I love you! I want to be a prolife speaker one day too.’ I expressed that I loved her as well and said, ‘I thought you wanted to be an OBGYN?. She said, ‘ I want to be both!’ I replied, ‘We could always use more prolife doctors.’ During this time my husband was watching a Ben Shapiro video on his phone while my other children watched a cartoon and the youngest was nursing (age eighteen months).
Nurse C turned to me and said with an annoyed tone: ‘So you’re prolife?’ I smiled and gently said ‘I am now but wasn’t always. I was raised in a more liberal atheist prochoice home, but it wasn’t until my first child that I ever had to really contemplate my beliefs. She changed my heart, and every child after changed me a bit more. I believe abortion hurts women.’
For the rest of the day this nurse was cold, rude, and pushed the medications quickly through my IV, which was very painful, and prior to that incident, she did it slowly. I ultimately decided to pray for her that she will see the love and happiness we have as a conservative pro-life family and maybe, just maybe, it would plant a mustard seed.
The Epoch Times reporter Patrick Howley wrote that he spoke to contemporaneous witnesses who confirmed that Hobbs related the same experience to them.
However, the backlash reportedly didn’t stop there, as Hobbs says she soon discovered that “Nurse C” had filed a complaint with Child Protective Services. And although Hobb’s story is disturbing, it doesn’t appear to be unique.
Antifa (short for “anti-fascist”), is a far left movement with a history of violence. Conservative journalist Andy Ngo was beaten by Antifa members in June, leaving him with a brain hemorrhage.
Other targets have included military personnel and immigration facilities. But the attacks aren’t just physical: while some are doxxing their opponents, others advocate filing false abuse claims.

The Twitter account @joinantifa does. It encourages people to report Trump voters for child abuse. Additional targets include conservative clergy and daycare owners.
In addition to harming conservatives, the strategy hurts abused children by wasting limited resources. However, concern for kids doesn’t seem to be much of a priority:
Twitter’s rules forbid promoting violence and doxxing, but they don’t seem to apply to Antifa. That isn’t surprising: Twitter has a history of punishing conservatives while ignoring egregious behavior from those on the left. It’s time to push back.
Social media companies like Twitter can only operate thanks to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. It shields them from liability for what users post, provided they operate as a neutral platform.
Well, they don't.
Sen. Josh Hawley has proposed legislation to hold big tech accountable, but it's not going to pass with Democrats controlling the House. We need to change that in 2020.
We also need more consequences for those making false allegations. Without them, innocent people are going to pay the price.
